This Privacy Policy explains what information the OrbitLink website and browser extension (the "Service") collect, how it is used, and your choices. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

1. What we collect

Account information — the email address, username, and (optionally) Google account ID or Web3 wallet address you use to sign up.
Authentication token — a login token (JWT) stored locally on your device (in browser storage / the extension's local storage) to keep you signed in.
Node activity metrics — while the extension node is connected, it sends periodic "heartbeats" to our servers containing: your node's uptime, an active/idle status, and a connection-quality value. These are used to calculate your Orbs rewards.
Usage within OrbitLink — tasks you complete, referrals, and rewards, in order to operate the rewards system.

2. What we do NOT collect

We do not read, collect, or transmit the content of the web pages you visit.
We do not collect your browsing history.
We do not route, intercept, or relay your internet traffic.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. How we use information

We use the information above only to: operate your account, keep you signed in, calculate and credit Orbs rewards based on node uptime and activity, run the tasks and referral systems, and secure the Service against abuse.

4. Browser extension permissions

The extension requests these permissions for the following reasons:

storage — store your login token and node state locally.
alarms — schedule periodic uptime heartbeats.
activeTab / tabs — detect active/idle state and open the OrbitLink site for sign-in.
sidePanel — show the OrbitLink panel.
Site access is limited to the OrbitLink website (to sync your login) — the extension does not run on or read other websites' content.

5. Data storage & security

Account data is stored on our servers and database. Your authentication token is stored locally on your device. We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

6. Data retention & deletion

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us (see below). Uninstalling the extension removes its locally stored data from your device.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.

OrbitLink operates a rewards network. During the current phase, the extension node earns rewards based on uptime and activity; it does not relay third-party internet traffic.
